Custom CRM development

A CRM built around your process, not a vendor’s idea of it

ShiftedLabs builds custom CRMs for businesses whose data does not fit a standard sales pipeline. For Yeppe, a Dutch education company, a single platform replaced their Teamleader CRM, an invoicing spreadsheet, manual re-typing into accounting and an outsourced team that checked contacts by hand — covering all 8,684 schools in the Netherlands and keeping its own contact data fresh.

Who it's for

Teams whose CRM fights them, or who run the business on spreadsheets and copy-paste because the CRM never matched how they sell.

Signs your current tools are failing

  • You keep a spreadsheet next to the CRM, because the CRM cannot hold what matters.
  • Your records are not really “contacts and companies” — they are schools, properties, vessels, suppliers, venues.
  • You pay people to research and re-check data that goes stale anyway.
  • The sales pipeline stops at “won”, and everything after that happens somewhere else.
  • You are paying for a CRM, a proposal tool and an invoicing tool that do not share data.

What we build

  • A data model that matches your world, not a generic contact record.
  • Pipeline through to delivery: won deals become projects, not a handover email.
  • Filtered lists by the dimensions you actually sell on — sector, region, role, size.
  • Email capture, so correspondence attaches itself to the right record.
  • Reporting and exports into the accounting and payroll systems you are keeping.

What a sensible first version looks like

Your real contact data, imported and deduplicated, with the one view your team opens every morning. Everything else follows once that view is being used daily.

Start with the smallest thing worth proving.

When not to build this

Use an off-the-shelf CRM if your process is standard — HubSpot, Pipedrive and Teamleader are good at the common case and cheaper than anything bespoke. Build your own when your data is unusual, when keeping it current is a job someone does by hand, or when one process spans three tools.

Typical integrations and data

  • Accounting and invoicing
  • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
  • Email verification
  • Public data sources

What happens after launch

A CRM is never finished, because the business keeps changing. We host it, monitor it and keep adjusting it as the process moves.

Ownership: you own the code, the data and the accounts. We can host and maintain it, but it is yours.
