Business process automation

Data and processes that keep themselves up to date

ShiftedLabs automates the repetitive research, checking and data entry that businesses currently pay people to do by hand. For Yeppe, crawlers and an email verification service lifted school website coverage from 86% to about 98% and checked roughly 14,000 contact emails, replacing an outsourced team that worked through a list a few times a year.

Who it's for

Businesses whose contact or product data goes stale, or who employ people to research, check and re-key information that exists somewhere already.

Signs your current tools are failing

  • An email bounces, it goes on a list, and someone works through that list a few times a year.
  • “Verified” means a box somebody ticked, with no date attached.
  • Prices, stock or availability are maintained by hand in more than one place.
  • You buy data that is out of date by the time it is loaded.
  • The same research task is repeated for every new record.

What we build

  • Scheduled jobs that pull from public and official data sources.
  • Crawlers that read organisation websites, with an AI fallback for pages ordinary parsing cannot handle.
  • Verification before anything is sent, with the check date stored on the record.
  • Failure feedback loops: a bounce classifies itself and fixes the record rather than creating a to-do.
  • Nightly syncs between systems, so two places never disagree for long.

What a sensible first version looks like

Automate one source and one check. Prove the data quality improves and that failures genuinely self-correct, then widen it.

Start with the smallest thing worth proving.

When not to build this

Do not automate a process you have not first simplified — you will preserve the mess permanently. And where judgement genuinely matters, keep the human and automate the preparation instead.

Typical integrations and data

  • Government and public open data
  • Email verification services
  • Scheduled serverless functions
  • Your existing database

What happens after launch

Automations break quietly when a source changes. We monitor them and treat a silent pipeline as an incident, not a surprise.

Ownership: you own the code, the data and the accounts. We can host and maintain it, but it is yours.
