For Adjust, a UK neurodiversity training consultancy, we built Ask Adjust: an assistant that answers managers’ questions from Adjust’s own guidance, links to the source it used, and follows the organisation’s house style — letting them bundle year-round support with every training contract.

- Access control: who can log in, and what each group can see.
- Review tooling, so you can read what people ask and improve the underlying guidance.
- Caching and hard caps on every model call, so costs stay predictable.
What a sensible first version looks like
One document set, one audience, one question type. Get the answers trustworthy on a narrow domain before widening it.
Start with the smallest thing worth proving.
When not to build this
Do not use AI where a search box, a decision tree or a well-written page would do the job better and cheaper. An assistant is the right answer when the questions are genuinely varied and the source material is large.
